This is a combination dietary supplement containing hydroxycitrate (commonly in the form of (-)-hydroxycitric acid, HCA) and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). Hydroxycitrate is derived from Garcinia cambogia and is proposed to inhibit ATP citrate lyase, an enzyme involved in de novo lipogenesis, potentially reducing fat synthesis. Medium-chain triglycerides are fats that are more rapidly absorbed and metabolized than long-chain triglycerides, providing a quick energy source and possibly promoting increased fat oxidation. The combination has been studied for effects on satiety, energy intake, weight loss, and metabolic health. Clinical studies indicate that short-term supplementation with this combination may result in modest weight loss but does not significantly increase satiety or reduce energy intake compared to placebo[1][5]. Both components are widely used as dietary supplements rather than pharmaceuticals.
