Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HYLO is a range of preservative-free ophthalmic lubricants designed for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and ocular surface irritation. The core active ingredient is sodium hyaluronate, a naturally occurring, high-molecular-weight polysaccharide with high viscoelastic properties. When applied topically, it forms a stable, long-lasting moisture film on the eye's surface that stabilizes the tear film and protects the cornea from desiccation. Developed by Ursapharm Arzneimittel, the HYLO series utilizes the patented COMOD (COntinuous MOnoDose) system, a sophisticated airless delivery mechanism that maintains the sterility of the solution for up to six months after opening without the need for chemical preservatives. The product line includes various formulations tailored to different severities of dry eye, such as HYLO-COMOD (0.1% concentration) and HYLO-GEL (0.2% concentration for severe cases).
