**Hyoscine butylbromide + paracetamol** is a fixed-dose combination drug consisting of hyoscine butylbromide (an antispasmodic agent) and paracetamol (an analgesic and antipyretic). Hyoscine butylbromide acts by blocking muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (M3 receptor subtype predominantly) in smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal, biliary, urinary, and female genital tracts, leading to muscle relaxation and relief of spasms. Paracetamol acts centrally by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, resulting in analgesic and antipyretic effects. The combination is used for the symptomatic treatment of spasmodic abdominal, biliary, genitourinary, and menstrual pain, where it provides both relief from pain (paracetamol) and reduction of muscle spasm (hyoscine butylbromide)[1][3][4][5]. Major side effects include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and slow heart rate[3][4]. Overdose may cause severe hepatotoxicity due to paracetamol and anticholinergic toxicity due to hyoscine butylbromide.
