Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IA-14069 + methotrexate is an investigational oral combination therapy under clinical evaluation for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. IA-14069 is a small molecule inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), developed to reduce inflammation by inhibiting TNF-α activity and modulating the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Methotrexate is a well-established disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) that works as a folate antagonist, inhibiting dihydrofolate reductase and thereby impeding cellular proliferation of immune cells linked to autoimmunity and inflammation. This combination aims to leverage the anti-inflammatory actions of IA-14069 and the immunosuppressive effects of methotrexate to address inadequately controlled or relapsing rheumatoid arthritis in patients who may not respond sufficiently to standard therapies[1][5][6][7].
