iAPDA-DC + CTL is an autologous cellular immunotherapy developed by researchers at Changhai Hospital for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The therapy involves two distinct components: dendritic cells (DCs) pulsed with inactivated autologous pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (iAPDA) cells, and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that have been primed and expanded ex vivo using these antigen-loaded DCs. The iAPDA cells serve as a source of tumor-associated antigens, allowing the DCs to present a broad spectrum of patient-specific neoantigens and shared tumor antigens. When administered, the DCs stimulate the patient's immune system to recognize these antigens, while the infused CTLs provide a direct effector population to target and eliminate tumor cells. This approach aims to overcome the immunosuppressive microenvironment of pancreatic cancer and induce a robust, specific anti-tumor immune response.
