Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IBI363 + capecitabine is an investigational combination regimen that pairs the novel bispecific fusion protein IBI363 (also known as TAK-928) with the oral chemotherapy agent capecitabine. Developed by Innovent Biologics and partnered with Takeda, IBI363 is a first-in-class PD-1/alpha-biased IL-2 bispecific fusion protein designed to simultaneously block the PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint pathway and selectively activate the IL-2 pathway on tumor-specific T cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immunity while minimizing systemic toxicity. Capecitabine is a fluoropyrimidine carbamate prodrug that is converted to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in vivo, acting as an antimetabolite to inhibit DNA synthesis and cell division. This combination is primarily being evaluated in clinical trials, often alongside oxaliplatin (as part of the XELOX regimen), for the treatment of advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
