Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of ibrutinib, a Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, and arsenic trioxide, an antineoplastic agent. Ibrutinib works by irreversibly inhibiting BTK, which is important in B-cell development and signaling. Arsenic trioxide works through multiple mechanisms including promoting degradation of the PML-RARA oncoprotein in acute promyelocytic leukemia. This combination has been investigated for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
