Ibuprofen + loratadine is a combination of two well-established pharmaceutical drugs, each with distinct mechanisms of action. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever. Loratadine is a second-generation antihistamine that selectively antagonizes peripheral histamine H1 receptors, thereby reducing symptoms associated with allergic reactions such as sneezing, itching, and runny nose. This combination may be used in situations where both pain/inflammation relief and allergy symptom control are desired[6][8]. There are no known clinically significant interactions between these two drugs when used together[2][3][4].
