Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flamol Forte is a fixed-dose combination of ibuprofen (400 mg) and paracetamol (500 mg) developed and manufactured by Omnica Laboratories in Nepal. It is formulated as an oral tablet and is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders, as well as for reducing fever. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that non-selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby blocking prostaglandin synthesis to provide analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) acts primarily in the central nervous system to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, reinforcing the analgesic and antipyretic actions of ibuprofen.
