ICIs + paclitaxel refers to a combination regimen used in oncology that includes one or more **immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs)** (commonly anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibodies) with the chemotherapeutic agent **paclitaxel**. ICIs work by blocking inhibitory immune checkpoints such as PD-1 or PD-L1, thereby enhancing T-cell mediated anticancer immune response. Paclitaxel, a microtubule stabilizer derived from Taxus brevifolia, inhibits cell division and promotes cancer cell death. This combination shows synergistic effects: paclitaxel not only kills tumor cells directly but also may enhance immunogenicity and antigen presentation, increasing the effectiveness of immune checkpoint blockade[1][2]. The regimen has been studied as first-line therapy for advanced gastric cancer and metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, showing improved progression-free and overall survival compared to chemotherapy alone[1][2][6].
