ID93 + GLA-SE (also known as QTP101) is a subunit tuberculosis vaccine candidate being developed by Quratis Inc. in collaboration with the Access to Advanced Health Institute (AAHI). The vaccine is composed of two primary components: ID93, a recombinant fusion protein comprising four Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens (Rv3619, Rv1813, Rv3620, and Rv2608), and GLA-SE, an adjuvant containing a synthetic Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist (glucopyranosyl lipid adjuvant) formulated in a stable oil-in-water emulsion. Designed as a booster for individuals previously vaccinated with the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine, ID93 + GLA-SE aims to prevent TB infection and disease by eliciting potent Th1-cell-mediated immune responses and humoral immunity. Clinical development has progressed through Phase 2a trials in healthy healthcare workers and Phase 1 trials in adolescents, with Phase 2b/3 trials planned to further evaluate efficacy and safety.
