Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IDX184 + peginterferon alfa-2a + ribavirin is an investigational oral combination regimen intended for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. IDX184 is a liver-targeted prodrug of 2'-methylguanosine monophosphate, acting as a nucleotide analog inhibitor of HCV NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Peginterferon alfa-2a is a pegylated form of interferon-alfa with immunomodulatory and antiviral properties, while ribavirin is a synthetic nucleoside analog with broad-spectrum antiviral activity. This combination aims to increase sustained virologic response rates by combining direct-acting antiviral (IDX184) with standard of care interferon-based backbone.
