Overview

A multi-agent cytotoxic chemotherapy combination, often referred to as Protocol B, used for treating aggressive mature B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) in pediatric and adolescent patients. It consists of five small-molecule agents: ifosfamide (an alkylating agent), etoposide (a topoisomerase II inhibitor), methotrexate (a folate antimetabolite), vincristine (a microtubule inhibitor), and prednisone (a corticosteroid). This regimen is typically used as part of a risk-stratified treatment plan, often in conjunction with rituximab and other protocols (like Protocol A), to improve event-free and overall survival in children with B-NHL. The combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2/3 clinical trial (NCT07168980) sponsored by the Children's Cancer Group in China.
