Overview

This is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen composed of five cytotoxic drugs: - Ifosfamide (an alkylating agent) - Pirarubicin (an anthracycline antibiotic, structurally related to doxorubicin) - Etoposide (a topoisomerase II inhibitor) - Carboplatin (a platinum-based DNA crosslinker) - Paclitaxel (a microtubule stabilizer) Each component has a distinct mechanism of action targeting rapidly dividing cancer cells. This combination is not a standard named regimen but represents an intensive, broad-spectrum chemotherapeutic approach. Regimens containing similar agents—such as ICE-T or TICE—are used in the treatment of various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, including germ cell tumors, breast cancer, sarcomas, and lung cancers[1][2][3]. The inclusion of pirarubicin instead of the more common doxorubicin is less typical but may be chosen for specific clinical scenarios.
