Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ifosfamide + vindesine is a chemotherapy combination used primarily for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This combination has also been studied in metastatic renal cell cancer. Ifosfamide is an alkylating agent chemically related to nitrogen mustards, while vindesine is a vinca alkaloid. When used together, they demonstrate cytotoxic activity against cancer cells through different mechanisms. In clinical studies, this combination has often been used with cisplatin (forming the VIP regimen), showing response rates of approximately 39-48% in NSCLC with manageable toxicity.
