Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**IL-2 + IL-12 gene-transfected KB cells** is an experimental irradiated, gene-modified whole-tumor-cell vaccine evaluated preclinically for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It consists of human KB tumor cells separately engineered to express human interleukin-2 and murine interleukin-12, then administered together after irradiation. In a BALB/c nude-mouse KB tumor model, peritumoral administration of the combined cell preparations significantly inhibited established tumor growth, whereas either cytokine-transfected cell preparation alone was not substantially effective.
