iLeadBMS is developing an unnamed, first-in-class, orally available small molecule CXCR7 agonist specifically for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including multiple sclerosis (MS). This compound is designed with blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration potential to target the central nervous system. By activating the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 7 (CXCR7), also known as atypical chemokine receptor 3 (ACKR3), the drug aims to upregulate the receptor's neuroprotective functions and maintain CNS homeostasis. This program is distinct from iLeadBMS's other CXCR7 agonist, IL2112, which targets fibrotic and autoimmune conditions.
