Overview

Ilorasertib (ABT-348) is an orally active, ATP-competitive small molecule multikinase inhibitor that primarily targets Aurora kinases (A, B, and C), as well as members of the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) families. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that functions by interfering with DNA replication through the formation of DNA cross-links. This combination therapy was developed by AbbVie (formerly Abbott) and evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The study aimed to determine the safety, pharmacokinetics, and maximum tolerated dose of the combination. However, the development program for ilorasertib, including its use in combination with carboplatin, was ultimately discontinued.
