Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Imagabalin + lithium** is an unbranded combination drug consisting of **imagabalin** (a gabapentinoid) and **lithium** (a mood stabilizer). Imagabalin, structurally and mechanistically similar to pregabalin, acts as a ligand at the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing excitatory neurotransmitter release. Lithium is primarily used in bipolar disorder, functioning to stabilize mood by influencing neuronal sodium transport and modulating neurotransmitter availability. Although no clinical use or regulatory approval for the imagabalin + lithium combination exists, analogous gabapentinoid-lithium combinations may have additive effects but also present increased risks of central nervous system depression, including drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, and impaired psychomotor function[1][2].
