Overview

IMC-004 (IMM7211) is a bispecific antibody-based therapeutic developed by ImmuneOnco Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of osteoporosis and sarcopenia. It simultaneously targets the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL) and the Activin A receptor type 2A (ACVR2A/ActRIIA). By blocking RANKL, IMC-004 inhibits the differentiation of osteoclast precursors into mature osteoclasts, thereby reducing bone resorption. Simultaneously, by antagonizing the Activin A/ActRIIA signaling pathway, it further inhibits osteoclast formation while promoting an increase in bone mineral density and skeletal muscle mass. This dual mechanism aims to provide superior efficacy in treating bone loss and muscle wasting compared to single-target agents like denosumab.
