Overview
Imiquimod + poly-ICLC is a combination of two immunomodulatory agents used primarily as immune adjuvants. Imiquimod is a small molecule that acts as an agonist of Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7), stimulating innate and adaptive immune responses. Poly-ICLC (Hiltonol) is a synthetic double-stranded RNA complex that acts as an agonist of Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3). When used together, these agents synergistically enhance the production of interferon-gamma and other cytokines by activating different TLR pathways. This combination has been studied for its ability to boost antigen-specific immune responses in vaccine formulations and cancer immunotherapy settings[1][4]. Both are being investigated or used as adjuvants in vaccines against infectious diseases and cancers.
