Overview

IMNN-001 + carboplatin + paclitaxel is a combination regimen under investigation for the frontline treatment of newly diagnosed advanced epithelial ovarian cancer. IMNN-001 is a nanoparticle-based DNA plasmid gene therapy encoding interleukin-12 (IL-12), delivered intraperitoneally to stimulate local immune responses, particularly T-lymphocyte and natural killer cell activity. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are chemotherapeutic agents typically used as neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical trials (notably, the OVATION-2 phase 1/2 study) have shown that the addition of IMNN-001 to carboplatin/paclitaxel therapy improved both progression-free survival and overall survival compared to chemotherapy alone, with a favorable safety profile. IMNN-001 is developed using the TheraPlas technology platform by Imunon and is not currently approved for commercial use. The combination is under evaluation in phase 2 clinical studies with a phase 3 trial in planning for ovarian cancer.[1][2][4][5]
