Overview

**Imrecoxib + tramadol** is a fixed-dose combination of imrecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and tramadol, a centrally acting opioid analgesic with additional serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibition properties. This combination provides multimodal analgesia by targeting peripheral inflammation via COX-2 inhibition (reducing prostaglandin synthesis) and central pain pathways through mu-opioid receptor agonism and monoamine reuptake inhibition, offering synergistic pain relief superior to either agent alone for moderate-to-severe acute pain, particularly postoperative pain. Developed primarily in China by Sihuan Pharmaceutical Holdings Group, it is approved for oral use in acute pain management where non-opioid therapies are inadequate.
