Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This inactivated hepatitis A vaccine (adsorbed) is a prophylactic candidate developed by Zydus Lifesciences for the prevention of Hepatitis A virus infection. The vaccine utilizes killed hepatitis A virus particles that have been adsorbed onto an adjuvant, typically aluminum hydroxide, to enhance the host's immune response. By presenting inactivated viral antigens, the vaccine stimulates the production of neutralizing antibodies without the risk of causing the disease. As of the current pipeline information, this candidate is in Phase 1 clinical development, representing an expansion of Zydus's established vaccine portfolio which includes products for influenza, rabies, and COVID-19.
