Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Inactivated Hepatitis A Vaccine (Human diploid cell) is an approved vaccine developed by AIM Honesty Biopharmaceutical, a subsidiary of AIM Vaccine Corporation. It is produced using the LV8 strain of the hepatitis A virus (HAV), which is cultured in the KMB17 human diploid cell line and subsequently inactivated. The vaccine is formulated with an aluminum adjuvant to enhance the immune response and is indicated for the prevention of hepatitis A infection in susceptible individuals aged 1 year and older. It is available in pediatric (320 EU) and adult (640 EU) formulations. The vaccine works by introducing inactivated HAV antigens to the body, stimulating the production of protective antibodies that provide immunity against future hepatitis A virus exposure.
