Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A seasonal influenza vaccine that protects against three different influenza viruses - one influenza A(H1N1) virus, one influenza A(H3N2) virus, and one influenza B virus (typically from the Victoria lineage). The vaccine is produced using a split virion technique, where influenza viruses are grown in embryonated chicken eggs, harvested, and then inactivated with formaldehyde before being chemically disrupted to produce a "split virus."
