indacaterol maleate + glycopyrronium bromide

JW2202 is a fixed-dose combination inhalation powder developed by Shandong Jingwei Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It consists of indacaterol maleate, a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (LABA), and glycopyrronium bromide, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). Indacaterol works by stimulating beta-2 receptors in the airway smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation, while glycopyrronium inhibits the bronchoconstrictor effects of acetylcholine on muscarinic M3 receptors. This dual mechanism provides synergistic bronchodilation and improved lung function compared to monotherapy. JW2202 is currently in Phase III clinical trials in China, where it is being evaluated for efficacy and safety against established treatments like tiotropium bromide. It is developed as a generic version of the combination drug Ultibro Breezhaler.
