Overview

This is a combination of two agents, indocyanine green and triamcinolone acetonide, used primarily in ophthalmology. Indocyanine green is a water-soluble dye that fluoresces in the near-infrared spectrum and is commonly used for angiography to visualize choroidal vasculature and guide photodynamic therapy. Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties, often administered intravitreally to reduce retinal edema and exudation. The combination has been studied as part of sequenced or combined therapies for retinal diseases such as retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP), where triamcinolone reduces edema prior to indocyanine green-guided photodynamic therapy[1][2][4]. Both agents are also individually used intraoperatively for visualization during macular surgery[6][8].
