Infanrix + Havrix refers to the co-administration of GlaxoSmithKline's DTaP vaccine (Infanrix) and its inactivated hepatitis A vaccine (Havrix). Infanrix is a non-infectious sterile vaccine containing diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, and adsorbed pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, and pertactin). Havrix contains a sterile suspension of the HM175 strain of hepatitis A virus that has been inactivated with formaldehyde and adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide. This combination regimen is used to provide simultaneous active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and hepatitis A. It is typically evaluated in pediatric populations, such as children around 15 months of age, to simplify vaccination schedules and improve compliance by reducing the number of separate clinic visits required for essential immunizations.
