Overview

Infanrix + Poliorix refers to the co-administration of two vaccines developed by GSK: Infanrix (a DTaP vaccine) and Poliorix (an inactivated poliovirus vaccine). Infanrix is a non-infectious sterile vaccine containing diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, and three purified pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, and pertactin). Poliorix is an inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) containing poliovirus types 1 (Mahoney), 2 (MEF-1), and 3 (Saukett). This combination regimen is used for primary immunization and booster doses in infants and children to provide broad protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and poliomyelitis. The vaccines are typically administered simultaneously at separate injection sites or as part of a coordinated immunization schedule.
