Overview

Infanrix + VAQTA refers to the concomitant administration of two distinct vaccine products: **Infanrix**, a diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccine developed by GSK, and **VAQTA**, an inactivated hepatitis A vaccine developed by Merck Sharp & Dohme. This specific combination was evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials (such as NCT00289913) to assess the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of concomitant administration in healthy children aged 12 to 17 months. Infanrix provides active immunity against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis through the use of toxoids and purified pertussis antigens, while VAQTA provides active immunity against the hepatitis A virus using a highly purified, formaldehyde-inactivated virus. The combination is intended to simplify pediatric immunization schedules by allowing multiple protections to be delivered during a single clinical visit.
