Overview

Infanrix IPV Hib + Synflorix refers to the co-administration of two distinct vaccines developed by GSK: the pentavalent combination vaccine Infanrix IPV Hib and the 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine Synflorix. Infanrix IPV Hib is designed to provide active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (acellular), poliomyelitis (inactivated), and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). Synflorix (GSK1024850A) is a conjugate vaccine targeting 10 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae (1, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F, and 23F), conjugated to carrier proteins including Protein D (derived from non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae), tetanus toxoid, and diphtheria toxoid. This co-administration regimen is typically utilized in pediatric vaccination schedules to provide broad protection against multiple bacterial and viral pathogens during infancy and early childhood. Clinical studies have assessed the safety and immunogenicity of these vaccines when given together as a booster dose in toddlers.
