Overview

A combination vaccine containing **inactivated, split virion influenza A (H1N1) 2009** virus antigen and the **MF59 adjuvant**. The vaccine is formulated to confer immunity against the A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)v-like strain. MF59 is an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant made primarily of squalene oil, which enhances immune response by promoting the recruitment of innate immune cells, facilitating antigen uptake and presentation, and inducing both humoral and cellular immunity. The combined effect results in higher and broader antibody titers, increased CD4+ T-cell priming, and more effective vaccination, especially in populations such as children and the elderly[1][2][3][4][5][6].
