Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Influenza vaccination refers to the administration of a vaccine to induce active immunity against influenza viruses. These vaccines typically target the viral surface glycoproteins, hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, of specific influenza A and B strains. Available in multiple formulations—including inactivated split-virion, subunit, recombinant protein, and live-attenuated virus vaccines—influenza vaccines are updated annually to protect against seasonal circulating strains. They are widely used to prevent influenza infection and reduce the risk of severe complications across diverse patient populations.
