Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a quadrivalent, inactivated, split-virion influenza vaccine developed by Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical. It is formulated with the proprietary ZFA02 adjuvant to enhance immunogenicity. The vaccine targets four strains of the influenza virus: two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). By using a split-virion approach, the virus is chemically disrupted to reduce reactogenicity while maintaining the presence of key surface antigens like hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. The addition of the ZFA02 adjuvant is intended to provoke a more robust and long-lasting immune response, which is particularly beneficial for populations with waning immunity, such as the elderly.
