Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Influenza vaccine (split virion, inactivated, high dose) is an investigational high-dose influenza vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech. Designed specifically for adults aged 60 years and older, the vaccine contains 60 µg of hemagglutinin (HA) per influenza strain, which is four times the concentration found in standard-dose vaccines (15 µg per strain). This increased antigen content is intended to overcome immunosenescence in the elderly population, eliciting a more robust immune response and higher titers of hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) antibodies. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity compared to standard-dose formulations.
