Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INHL004 is an inhaled suspension formulation of budesonide, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid, developed by Lee's Pharmaceutical through its subsidiary Zhaoke Pharmaceutical (Guangzhou) (ZKGZ Biotech). Budesonide is a well-established anti-inflammatory agent used for the maintenance treatment of chronic respiratory diseases. It functions as an agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor (NR3C1); upon binding, the receptor-ligand complex translocates to the nucleus where it modulates gene transcription to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators while upregulating anti-inflammatory proteins. This action effectively reduces airway inflammation, edema, and hyperreactivity. INHL004 is specifically designed for administration via a nebulizer and has received marketing approval in China for the treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
