Overview

INO-3510 is a multi-plasmid DNA vaccine developed by Inovio Pharmaceuticals for the prevention of influenza. It is a combination product consisting of three distinct DNA plasmids: INO-3605, INO-3609, and INO-3401. These plasmids encode for hemagglutinin (HA) antigens derived from H1 and H5 influenza A virus strains. The vaccine is administered intradermally followed by in vivo electroporation using Inovio's proprietary CELLECTRA device, which facilitates the entry of the DNA plasmids into host cells. Once inside, the host cell machinery expresses the viral antigens, triggering both cellular (T-cell) and humoral (B-cell/antibody) immune responses. INO-3510 was evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety and immunogenicity against seasonal and potentially pandemic influenza strains.
