INO-4201 + INO-9012 is a combination of two investigational DNA-based medicines developed by Inovio. INO-4201 is a DNA vaccine encoding a synthetic consensus antigen for the Zaire Ebola virus (ZEBOV) glycoprotein (GP), designed to prevent infection by inducing immune responses against diverse ZEBOV strains[1][4]. INO-9012 encodes human interleukin-12 (IL-12), serving as an immunostimulatory adjuvant to enhance the immune response generated by co-administered DNA vaccines[4]. The combination has been studied in clinical trials as part of multi-component regimens for Ebola prevention and as an immunotherapy platform. The agents are delivered intramuscularly or intradermally followed by electroporation using devices such as CELLECTRA[7]. Primary indications include prophylaxis against Ebola virus disease and use as a booster following other Ebola vaccines such as Ervebo[1][6].
