insulin aspart + human insulin

NovoRapid (insulin aspart) and Actrapid (regular human insulin) are insulin therapies used for the management of blood glucose levels in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. NovoRapid is a rapid-acting insulin analog that provides mealtime glucose control with a faster onset and shorter duration of action compared to regular human insulin. Actrapid is a short-acting human insulin produced by recombinant DNA technology. The clinical trial conducted by Odense University Hospital (NCT00121108) was a Phase 4 crossover study designed to compare the frequency of hypoglycemic attacks between these two insulin types when used in a basal-bolus regimen alongside NPH insulin. Both insulins act as agonists at the insulin receptor, mimicking the action of endogenous insulin to facilitate glucose uptake into cells and inhibit hepatic glucose production.
