Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Insulin degludec + insulin aspart** is a fixed-ratio, soluble co-formulation of the ultra-long-acting basal insulin analogue insulin degludec and rapid-acting prandial insulin analogue insulin aspart in a 70/30 unit ratio. It is marketed by Novo Nordisk as Ryzodeg and is produced using recombinant DNA technology in *Saccharomyces cerevisiae*. Following subcutaneous administration, insulin degludec forms a soluble multi-hexamer depot that provides prolonged basal glucose lowering, while insulin aspart is rapidly absorbed to reduce meal-related glucose excursions. The product is used for diabetes mellitus, including type 1 diabetes mellitus with additional rapid-acting insulin at other meals and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
