insulin detemir + insulin lispro

This is a combination therapy using two different types of insulin. Insulin detemir (Levemir) is a long-acting insulin that provides basal insulin coverage for up to 24 hours. Insulin lispro (Humalog) is a rapid-acting insulin that starts working within 15 minutes and provides mealtime coverage. When used together, they provide comprehensive glycemic control for patients with diabetes mellitus.
