Intercoat (FzioMed)

Intercoat (Oxiplex/AP gel) is an anti-adhesion barrier gel developed by FzioMed, Inc. It is a biologic-based hydrogel composed of polyethylene oxide (PEO) and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). The gel is designed to be applied directly into the uterine cavity following operative hysteroscopy, such as for the treatment of retained products of conception (RPOC). It acts as a temporary physical barrier that prevents the formation of intrauterine adhesions (Asherman syndrome) by separating damaged endometrial surfaces during the initial healing phase. While evaluated in clinical trials at centers like Assaf-Harofeh Medical Center, it serves as a mechanical adjunct to surgical procedures to improve reproductive outcomes.
