Interferon-alpha + retinoic acid is a combination therapy consisting of two agents with distinct but complementary mechanisms. Interferon-alpha (IFN-α) is a cytokine with immunomodulatory, antiproliferative, and antiangiogenic properties. Retinoic acids (such as 13-cis-retinoic acid or all-trans-retinoic acid) are vitamin A derivatives that regulate cell differentiation and proliferation.
