**interferon alpha-2a + interferon alpha-2d** is a combination of two recombinant type I interferons used as immunomodulators. Both components act primarily by binding to specific cell surface interferon receptors, activating intracellular signaling pathways that induce the expression of numerous interferon-stimulated genes, thereby exerting antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory effects. Each form is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring human interferon alpha subtype. Interferon alpha-2a and alpha-2d have been used independently for the treatment of various viral infections (e.g., hepatitis B, hepatitis C) and some cancers (e.g., hairy cell leukemia, Kaposi’s sarcoma, malignant melanoma), but data for their combined use are extremely limited or not well established in current literature.
