Drug intelligence / Profile preview
interferon lambda-1 + MERS-CoV (IFN-MERS-CoV) is a preclinical-stage interferon-integrated vaccine candidate being developed by Canthevac for the prevention of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), caused by MERS-CoV. Built on Canthevac's proprietary Interferon-integrated Vaccine Platform (IVP), the vaccine incorporates interferon lambda-1 (a Type III interferon) activity directly into a vaccine construct targeting MERS-CoV. This approach combines antigen-specific immune stimulation with the innate antiviral activity of interferon lambda-1 to enhance mucosal T-cell and B-cell immunity. The vaccine is designed for intranasal administration to deliver protection directly to the respiratory tract's mucosal surfaces.
