This is a combination therapy consisting of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) and intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP). IVIg is a blood product containing pooled immunoglobulins (antibodies) from healthy donors, used to modulate immune responses in various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Methylprednisolone is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. The combination has been studied as an induction treatment for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), where it aims to induce remission more effectively than either agent alone by combining the rapid action of IVIg with the sustained effects of corticosteroids. It has also been investigated in other immune-mediated conditions such as Guillain-Barré syndrome and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C)[1][3][7][9].
