Overview

Inulin + arabinoxylan is a combination of two dietary fibers, inulin and arabinoxylan, used primarily as a prebiotic supplement. Inulin is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in many plants (such as chicory root, onions, and asparagus), while arabinoxylan is derived from cereal grains like wheat and rye. This combination has been studied for its effects on the gut microbiome and metabolic health. Mechanistically, both fibers are fermented by gut bacteria to produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which can influence energy intake and support beneficial microbial populations such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. A recent clinical study showed that daily supplementation with this blend reduced calorie intake during meals without affecting subjective appetite or satiety but increased SCFA production and beneficial gut bacteria counts[2].
