Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Product BLMB (IP4) is an investigational liquid dietary supplement containing a combination of three soluble fibers: 700 mg of inulin, 30 mg of β-glucans, and 700 mg of arabinogalactan per daily dose. It was evaluated in a 2023 clinical study for its potential to aid in weight management and improve metabolic health in overweight and obese individuals with traits of metabolic syndrome. The study, which combined the supplement with an energy-restricted diet, found that this combination contributed to significant reductions in body weight, BMI, fat mass, and visceral fat, and improvements in lipid profiles. The mechanism of action is thought to involve increased satiety, modulation of the gut microbiome due to the prebiotic nature of its components, and alteration of nutrient absorption in the gastrointestinal tract.
