Drug intelligence / Profile preview
INV-001 is an iron-based T1 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent developed by Inventera for magnetic resonance lymphangiography (MRL). The agent's structure consists of a dextran core and an iron oxide shell, with a hydrodynamic size of approximately 3.6 nm. This size is specifically engineered to facilitate selective uptake by lymphatic vessels following intradermal or subcutaneous injection, thereby allowing for clear visualization of the lymphatic system without significant venous contamination. INV-001 works by shortening T1 relaxation times and possesses a low r2/r1 ratio of 1.2, making it an effective T1 contrast agent. It is currently in clinical development for the diagnosis and evaluation of lymphedema and other lymphatic diseases.
